guess-who_20210310-124328_1.jpgI was born and bred in East London, the financial heart of our City, London.  I am extremely bright, outgoing and educated to the level of BA Honors Degree, I found education easy. I am employed full-time in a demanding well-paid role which was hard fought as there were 22 applicants for my position.  I have strong family values and great group of friends with similar values to me.  All my associates and friends are well-educated and all high achievers. I am hardworking, ambitious and believe to enjoy life you must put in the hard work and hours, paid hours that is. I enjoy socialising with a drink or 2 and eating out in good restaurants and travelling at least twice a year, why not work hard and enjoy life to its fullest? My next holiday will be in one of the top ten richest countries in the world, and it’s warm.

We’ve all seen the Megan and Harry Interview with Oprah by now and my opinion on this matter regardless of if you like the couple or not is, someone has had the courage to share their experience regarding their mental health and suicidal thoughts.  Help was not offered or forthcoming from a family (institution) her words, who had both the means and resources to intervene and assist including her husband. Something has gone terribly wrong, numerous people of all races, religions and ethnicities have a lot to answer. Are we all not entitled to the same support for mental health regardless of who we are in the UK? apparently not, for clarity Meghan identifies as, “half Black and half White”.

Race is a physical attribute that you cannot choose, it is inherited, you may say, “well I don’t see race” but people do, and if you think this is not true your mistaken or in denial, check out the news for the past 50-100 years!

Its 20-21 and we are all entitled to a personal preference in our dating lives or when choosing a significant other, however, you cannot apply this in a workplace, race does not stop anyone from being capable of their job. Before making a judgment at any time about anyone why not stop reflect and consider, are we judging a person based on our own physical likes and dislikes, our inherited prejudices?

I am the author, what race do you think I am? ……………… Not that I care.
